Madeline Marie (Kroll) Griffith

Madeline Marie (Kroll) Griffith, of New Franklin Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bill Griffith and her three children, James John Martell of New Franklin, OH; Heather Fabek (Tim) of Jackson Township, OH; and Michael Griffith (Kim) of Stow, OH. Three grandchildren, John Fabek, Madison Fabek, and Jordan Martell. Two great grandchildren, Bailey Thomas and Callum Thomas.  She had loving parents, Mary Ann Kroll and Sigmond John Kroll. Madeline grew up with and was very close to her sister, Marianne Costick (Jeff). She had two nephews, Jeffy Costick and Joey Costick and two cousins, Pam Modzeleski and Richard Modzeleski. Madeline was born July 31, 1946 in Barberton, Ohio. She went to St Mary’s Elementary School in Akron and graduated from Manchester High School. Madeline was Miss Franklin Township and enjoyed modeling in New York City. She worked at Cargill Salt for over 30 years. Madeline went on to receive her associate's degree in Massage Therapy. She liked playing the accordion and performed on Polka Varieties with her sister Marianne, as the Kroll sisters, with Frank Yankovic. She loved the fine arts and was an accomplished belly dancer and Hungarian dancer. Madeline was a breast cancer survivor and an avid supporter of her community and the Dragon Boat Dream Team. She helped to fundraise money for the Dragon Boat Dream Team to fight breast cancer. Madeline was an active member of St Francis de Sales parish and had a deep love of her faith and her family. Most importantly, Madeline, was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, friend to many, and all around kind-hearted human being that will be deeply missed. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out. We Will Always Love You!

A memorial Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12:00 noon at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron, Ohio.  Reverend Father Jeremy Merzweiler officiating.  Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service AT THE CHURCH.  Inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
