Ellen Elizabeth Bline Kurek passed away May 7 due to a long battle with health issues. She is preceded in death by her favored father, Jerry Bline and her son in law, Michael Helsel. She is survived by her mother, Rita Bline, her devoted husband, Alan Kurek, her daughter, Jennifer Helsel, her grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything in the world, Madison, Kelsie, Braidyn and Kaine. Ellen will also be missed by her siblings Debbie (Bob) Pickens, Nancy Bline, her Irish twin Fr. G. David Bline, Deanna (Mike) Hatfield, Kathleen Bline (Betty Neptune), and Amy (Rich) Peters, as well as 18 nieces and nephews whom she loved to hold and love on. Ellen had a second chance at life 16 years ago when an organ donor gave their last gift of life to her, their liver. Ellen has since had many ups and downs with her health and no one fought harder than her. She touched every single life she ever came into contact with and everyone will remember her as the beautiful, stubborn, Bull-headed go getter, she didn’t like the word NO. Ellen’s daughter and grandkids were what made her complete, she held on and lived for them and her husband. She is finally at peace now and no more pain and will live on through them and the rest of her loved ones. Consider organ donations and pray for their families. Memorial donations, if so desired, for support of Ellen's grandchildren may be made by check to Fr. G David Bline and be sent to St. Francis de Sales Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
